One of my favorite beach must-haves is a sand-free beach blanket to lay your foundation and keep the sand at bay. I learned about it about 8 years ago when I first moved to Miami, and it has been a staple and foundation of all my beach trips. Bonus feature is that it is so thin it dries fast and fits neatly in the attached pouch for easy storage and transport.
Once we have our foundation, it’s time to think about the rest of our beach sanctuary. To escape the sun’s rays, bring along a large canopy that provides ample shade and shelter, like a 10×10 collapsible canopy. They usually come with a neat carry case with wheels, so it’s easy to transport. And don’t forget beach towels.

However, if you are flying to Miami or driving and don’t have the ability to bring a beach canopy or a beach umbrella, do not worry – beach rentals are available throughout the Miami Beach. You can find umbrellas and loungers if you are staying at one of the Miami Beaches beachfront hotels, or you can find a nearby beach rental service, such as Boucher Brothers or Esteban’s Place.
It’s important to choose a spacious beach bag to stow away your essentials, like sunscreen, reading material, and snacks, and a cooler filled with refreshing beverages and treats to keep you hydrated and energized throughout the day.
